Description
New Genius is a standalone ECU programmer. It talks to the engine control unit through the vehicle OBDII socket or through specific diagnostic connectors, and it does not need a laptop attached to manage the serial communication.
The safety behaviour is the part worth knowing. Before writing, the device checks file size and checksum integrity. If the procedure is interrupted, a connector pulled out being the usual case, it recovers the communication and resumes rather than leaving a half-written ECU.
