About us

What PL Keys supplies to the automotive and locksmith trade, and why the catalogue is arranged around keyway, FCC and OEM codes.

Last updated

PL Keys supplies the automotive and locksmith trade: key blanks and shells, transponder chips and remotes, picks and decoders, cylinders and pinning kits, cutting machines and the consumables that feed them.

Built around identifying the part

The hard part of this job is rarely buying the item. It is working out which item. Blade profiles that look identical side by side, a chip family that changed part way through a model year, a keyway code stamped somewhere you have to know to look for.

So the catalogue is arranged around codes rather than pictures. Put a keyway, an FCC ID or an OEM part number into the search box and you land on the item itself. Identify a key works from the code on the original. Find your key starts from the vehicle, for when there is no code left to read.

What a product page tells you

Keyway, frequency, chip family, button count, and the OEM part numbers we hold, on the page rather than in a document you have to ask for. Where a field is empty, it is empty because we do not have that detail verified. A blank is more use to you than a confident guess.

Who buys here

Auto locksmiths and mobile key cutters, workshops and body shops, and people replacing one key for one vehicle. Quantity pricing applies in the cart with no account to open and no tier to qualify for. For standing orders, quotes and terms, there is a trade account.

Getting an answer

Caught between two machines, or unsure whether a blank suits the one you run? Use the contact form and give us the vehicle, the code, or the machine and the blank you cut with. You will get an answer to the question you actually asked.

We would rather earn the second order than win the first.
