Accessibility
How this store is built for keyboard, screen reader and low vision use, what we have verified, and how to tell us when something does not work.
This store should be usable with a keyboard, with a screen reader, at any zoom level, and on a phone in a van. This page states what we have actually checked rather than a general commitment.
What we target
WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Two specific measures we hold ourselves to, because they are the ones most often skipped:
- Target size: every control is at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, which is WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.5.8, and at least 44 by 44 where a finger is the pointer.
- Visible focus: focus outlines are never removed. If you navigate with a keyboard you can always see where you are.
What we have verified
- Every page renders without horizontal scrolling at 360, 768, 1024 and 1440 pixels wide.
- Icon-only controls carry a text label for assistive technology.
- Motion respects the reduced motion setting in your operating system.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
Known limits
Product photography comes from manufacturers, and alternative text on those images describes the product rather than the image composition. Specification tables are wide by nature and scroll inside their own box on a narrow screen rather than shrinking to unreadable text.
Telling us something is wrong
If any part of this store blocks you, tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way, and we will fix it rather than explain it. Contact details are on the contact page. This page is reviewed whenever the storefront changes.
