Tuff Key Blank

Blanks are made in brass, nickel silver and steel, and the choice shows up in use rather than at the counter. A softer blank cuts cleanly and wears faster, while a harder one lasts but is less forgiving of a worn machine cutter.

Either way the profile has to be exact. Read the code off the original key or the lock body and match the blank to it, then pick the material to suit how often the key will be used.
