About Automotive Ignition & Door Locks
A worn ignition is usually a worn cylinder rather than a failed switch. The wafers lose their edges, the key turns loosely or jams part way in, and the electrical switch sitting behind it is often perfectly sound.
Replacing the cylinder means a new key unless the barrel is rekeyed to the original. A full set keeps the doors and the ignition on one key, which is worth the difference where several locks are already tired. Each listing says what it covers and whether keys are included.
